Flower Creations Card

Here's a card I whipped up today to get ready to send a package to my Mom. She still isn't feeling well and I can tell by our conversations that she is depressed about not getting well faster than she think she should. Up in Connecticut where she lives, they have been getting lots of snow and freezing rain which makes it difficult for her to even leave her home or anyone to come visit. She told me she was cold, so I went shopping and found her the most buttery soft green pajamas imaginable that you would just want to cozy up in on a blustery day. I found some matching socks and I got her a box of chocolates to go with it. I plan on putting her box in the mail tomorrow to surprise her. This is the card I made to go in the package.

This card was made with my cuttle bug and wizard dies. I used the Flower Creations die cut and the Small Scalloped Circle. I cut the "Hugs to You" with my Cricut from the Beyond Birthdays cartridge. I used one of my punches for the lace effect on the bottom and tied a ribbon around it. I also used some stickles on the sentiment. Hope you enjoy looking at it and please leave a comment to let me know what you think.

Valentine Angel Bear

Yesterday around 4 p.m. after starting to feel better, I decided to use one of those Valentine card ideas that had been floating around my head while I was home sick from work the last two days. Now I am not obsessed with bears, but I do like to incorporate bears in just about every aspect of my life.

This is just one of those bear stamps I have collected and haven't used yet. I can't tell you for the life of me who the manufacture is because this stamp is not home. What I do, is take a bunch of stamps I am going to be stamping with to work with me and go into one of our empty offices during my lunch hour and stamp and color. I keep a box with ink, markers, pencils, and paper at work so I have my supplies on hand and just change out the stamps when I start a different project. This stamp is still in my room. I just love to color when I am at work. Coloring relieves stress!!! I loved to color as a child and still do as an adult. It's so relaxing.

I used heart shaped brads to attach my stamped image to the card. I used the heart Nestabilities from Spellbinders for the heart and stamped it with one of those Michael's dollar stamps I picked up recently. They had some cute ones this year. I also used Martha Stewart's branch and frond punch for the leafy accents on the Prima flowers. And of course, stickles....I glitter everything. I am so serious...I have all kinds of glitter, craft glitter, body glitter, hair glitter, eyelash glitter, and eye shadow glitter. I love it!

Thanks for looking and stay tuned for more Valentine cards coming soon. I am going to be making approximately 30 to 35 Valentines to send to friends and family.

Daisy Chain Afghan

After being so excited about my blog, I have not posted since my first post. I am feeling terrible and not able to do much right now as far as crafts are concerned. Some kind of cold/bronchitis thing going on. I just wanted to share one of the prettiest afghans I ever made. It is called Daisy Chain and is done in blue, white, and yellow. It's such a cheerful combination. Also pictured here is Boyds Bear Denise N Daisydew which was issued in spring of 2003. I love that set and have it out in my dining room in the spring. She is holding a sign that has the "He loves me, He loves me not" poem that I found at my local gift store. Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I will get back into the swing of things soon and bring some new crafts to share!

My Very First Post to Share

Well, here I am, my very first post on my blog. This is new for me and a dream come true. (I really need to dream bigger dreams don't I, lol) This is a Get Well Card I made for my Mother last night who lives in Connecticut. I sent it to her this morning. She has a MRSA staph infection in her thumb and pneumonia. She was in the hospital for 5 days and is now home. Thank goodness she responded to the IV antibiotics! She was really sick. I love her so much and was so worried about her. She said she started feeling a little better today.

Anyway, this was stamped with Inkadinkado Garden Delight clear stamps. I also used my cuttlebug for the scalloped circle behind "Get Well Soon" which, by the way, was cut on my Cricut "Beyond Birthdays". I used Versa Magic Ink and Stickles on the stamped designs. I just love Stickles and use them on almost all my cards. The scalloped and embossed edging was a Fiskars stamp I got in my stocking for Christmas. I also tied a shear white ribbon on the card.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by and check out my card. I hope you like it and will take the time to leave me a comment. It sure would be appreciated! I am presently working on my Valentine's cards, so check back soon for another addition to my blog.
