MMSC69-"priscillastyles" Mauve Sunflower

Hi blogging friend! I am happy to report that after 50 days of temperatures in the 90's and the heat index in the 100's we finally have a reprieve. I don't care how much air conditioning you have, it is still humid and you can't even vacuum without feeling you might keel over from heat exhaustion...lol
This weeks sketch...it's "YOUR PICK" Make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between. Remember to click on the sneak peek button on the side bar for the following weeks sketch each Friday.

Hello! I am Roberta from Prairie Fairy Designs. I am a digital stamp company featuring artwork not only created by me but also my two kids, ages 9 and 12. They are featured on the site as the Fairy Princess and the Prairie Prince.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and have always loved to create. Two years ago my sister-in-law invited me to a rubber stamp party. I laughed and said "Maybe I will buy something if I can use it to stamp on canvases.". Needless to say, I was hooked! Two years later, a lot of learning about computers, and a few setbacks with web stuff (I am so not tech savvy!) I finally accomplished my goal. We have been around since the spring and still growing.
If you have any questions about going digital, check out the site and the blog (www.prairiefairy.blogspot.com) for more information, tips and tutorials. So head on over to http://www.prairiefairydesigns.com and check it out!
Along with this stamp set you will get one free digi from their store!
Thank you so much Roberta!!

For this weeks card I have used the Sunflower image from "priscillastyles" store! I love creating with sunflower images so this was a pleasure for me to work with. I wanted to do something different from your typical golden yellow sunflower. I had this most beautiful paper laying on my table and I let my creative side take over and make this in mauve.Four different Ranger distress inks were used in creating this image. The two pinks and the tea dye. I just sponged the tea die all over the image and then went on top with the pinks and the leaves were done with green. I placed crystal effects on the sunflower after it was dry.

Seed beads were placed in the middle of the sunflower. Spellbinders scalloped dies and the sunflower die were used in the creation of this card. Used my favorite embellishment...stickles as well. The gorgeous cranberry pearls are from my friend Gunn who sent me a delicious envelope with some really cool stuff to create with. I love these pearls-there are some unique colors and all different sizes for me to play with...THANK YOU Gunn!!!!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at what I have created today. I really appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend with your families.

You Can Have Your Cake and Eat It Too!

Isn't this just the cutest!!! Oh my goodness-it is super quick too! I know the people at Splitcoast Stampers (Pamzi in particular) always ask me how long it takes to make my cards. The last card took me about 8 hours. But I can tell you that I made this in about 45 minutes. I know the next one I make will be like 20 minutes max-cause now I have my template!!!
I bought this little tea light in a pack of two at the dollar store. The blue cardstock is just leftovers and so is the white. I used my spellbinders scalloped die for the top and bottom. The top is the smallest die in the large set and the bottom is the next size up for the small.

I used the lace edge Martha Stewart border punch and trimmed it down very small and added pearls. The flowers on the top are some things small enough to go on the top that I had laying around here. The Martha Stewart branch and butterfly punch were also used.

If you are interested in making one of these, you can catch the tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers here. It doesn't show you how to do the bottom part. For that, like I said, just cut the next size up from the smallest die, then I took a pencil and traced the tealight in the middle of the die cut and cut out the hole so you can turn the tealight off and on. I slipped it into place and put a bit of glue around to hold it.

I cannot wait to make more of these. They are just so darn cute!!! I am going to try to make the acetate box to put it in as well. This is a super fun and quick project!!! Have fun!

Fred She Said - Plain Cupcake

Greetings Blog Friends. Today I wanted to show you a project that I am working on. I have lots of September Birthdays coming up so I need to get a head start on these Birthday Cards. I picked the image from Fred She Said called "Plain Cupcake" which you can find here. My friends favorite color is blue so I wanted to rename the image "Blue Velvet Cupcake"!!! lolThe reason for that is pretty clear in this picture. I am complete enarmored with this recipe called "Blue Velvet Cupcakes". They are made just like the "Red Velvet" version but you use Wilton's Royal Blue and a dash of Violet gel food coloring. They are so beautiful. Since my friend lives so far away, I can't actually makes these for her, but I can send the recipe right!!! lol The second recipe is called Blue Hawaii Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes. They are really pretty too when made up. Trust me, but they never last long enough around here to take a picture of them!!!
Here is a picture of the open card with the envelope on the right. I printed my cupcakes out three times for each cupcake and layered them for dimension. I used some tinsel glitter on the top to make it look like sugar sprinkles...Yum.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing this project. I am making something else to go with this card that I will share with you later on this week that I am really excited about. Thanks for stopping by.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS DOUBLE DELIGHT

Here is my sample card made with "Goldilocks" from Michelle Perkett! Isn't she just darling holding her Teddy Bear. I just love Michelle's whimsical images. What strikes me is on her woman/girl images she always draws the best hair!!! lol I know that is kind of quirky of me, but I love "big" fluffy curly hair. See what I mean with Goldilocks! That hair is to die for!!!

This is my sample card using the Halloween images from Sugar Creek Hollow. The talented Tracey who is on our Design team is our sponsor this week. This Halloween set is awesome. I love the swirls I just in the corners. I placed a lot of crystals in the curves.

S0 what do you think about these spiders??? OOooo I am so scared of spiders!!! I used to think they were so interesting when I lived in Connecticut. But when I moved to Georgia...well my experiences have not been pleasant. I put my hands up under a dolls dress to fluff her petticoat and put my hands right in a good size web with about 6 spiders the size of quarters. I have had several fall on me at home and work....and do you know they make a clicking noise-oh yeah....not cool!!! Thanks for stopping by today. So what do you think? Do you have any good Spider stories???

Remember it is for one week only, so hurry to get in on the deal. Be sure to go to the Fred She Said Store and look for "Digi Of The Week"!
You can't help but fall in love with this sweet little puppy. Who can resist that face!!! Rosie is one of my favorite of many digial images from the Fred She Said Store. This is the pre-colored version-so it makes your card crafting a cinch. As you can see I have used the Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch, the large chrysanthemum double punch, frond, branch, and double punch monarch butterfly. Lots of machine stitching on all the different panels on this card in black thread really make the paper stand out. The tag is a Spellbinders die cut from the Fancy Tag Collection.

Here is a close up of sweet Rosie. You can see I layered this image. The design of this digi lends itself to be layered perfectly.Of course, I always have to have some bling and glitter in my designs.

This is a look at the inside of this card. The Martha Steward Punch Around the Page here is Gothic Arches.

Hope you have enjoyed viewing my card project with Rosie With Flower Colored Set. In the background of this photo you can see the matching envelope I made to coordinate together. Greetings friends and welcome to another Midnight Madness Challenge. What a great sketch. I am writing this to you from my Mom's house in Connecticut. This week I am so thrilled to present this awesome image. One of the Midnight Madness Design Team Members bought this for me and sent it to me to put a smile on my face because she knows I love bears. I was so thrilled and so surprised when I saw it in my in box....that I cried!! lol Then I smiled. This DT member is just the sweetest and lots of fun to have on our design team. What a peach. Thank you so much Gunn!!!! I love it.
